Time for something new

Ok, this morning I came up with a new plot idea for a book, so I’m going to start working on it! Another young adult book, totally different plot from my last one. I think I will research details first, build up the characters and then start on the story itself, see how that works for me.

I’ve been going to my kickboxing class religiously, so far my weight has stayed about the same, but I can SEE that I look better. My tummy is flatter, my butt is about two inches higher (but it is still so big it makes me question my race…), and my legs are more toned. I am having a lot of fun going, I always feel great after class, and I’m meeting some really nice people.

Update on skydiving: ….. nothing. I looked into it a bit, and I’m starting to put that idea on the back burner. Before you say I’m giving up I do have good reason for it; first off, it costs a lot of money, and I just bought a house which also costs a lot of money, so my cash flow is tapped. Second of all I still really really want to do it, but I want to do it with someone else who really really wants to do it, it would just be more fun! I have a few maybes, so I am thinking it will still happen hopefully this year, maybe not just by my bday.

Ugh… my birthday. This is honestly the first birthday that has caused me to ugh. I know it is ridiculous, and I remind myself daily of this… but I swear I’m having a quarter life crisis! I feel like I haven’t done jack shit yet! Time to get on it!

So for now I will take my leave, and start researching my book!

Haven’t written in a while, the good news is that it’s because I’ve been sooooo busy!

I have been religiously attending my kickboxing classes, I love it more every day

We got a house! WOOHOO!!! Moving in a couple weeks.

Last but not least I am participating in a walk to raise funds for arthritis, any donations are helpful!

Three weeks in and still kicking…

Pun intended.

I am three weeks into my kickboxing classes, and I have been very good about going at least 4 days every week. I am starting to notice results, the first week I gained 4 lbs. the second week I lost 5, so far this week I’ve stayed at the same weight, but everything is firming up. My stomach is much flatter so I am thrilled with that. They don’t do as much jump roping at this studio as my old one did, so I don’t make as big of an ass of myself on a regular basis. Jump roping aside I am still a klutz, so I have managed to trigger an old sprain, pulled a few muscles, and I have a steadily increasing amount of cuts and bruises. I have met some really nice people there, it is fun to get out and do something!! Normally I would start to dread going to places like the gym, I even dread going tanning when I have a membership, but I really look forward to going to class.

The jack man had a little cut on the part of his front leg that bends… but through licking and chewing he has now created a pretty big wound, so he is in a cone… and not thrilled. I keep trying to wrap the cut, but he chews off the bandages, even with the cone!!!

Well, no further progress on my book yet, once I get some of the critique back I will set back to work on making it a tolerable read!

This month has proved to be pretty stressful, I’m hoping February will be a bit more fun. We have been short-staffed at work, but that problem is getting fixed starting monday, we finally hired a new front desk person.

I have been doing really well motivating myself to go to kickboxing class… a little too well! I decided when I signed up to make Wednesday nights my “off” night, so my body could repair the damage I was doing to it, but I had to force myself to stay home tonight! I am loving going to class, the work outs are tough and push me to the extreme, but I feel so great afterwards! I highly recommend it to anyone interested in trying something new/wanting to get in shape.

I am attempting to stay away from my book for the time being, so my agent (aka my mom ) can work her way through it and make changes. Once she is all done I will go back through and rewrite where needed!

Feel the burn

Well, yesterday I started back at Kickboxing, it had been almost 10 years sense I have gone to a studio for it, and boy am I out of shape! Yesterday I thought I would pass out every couple of minutes, today… I felt like that and puking. This studio is really different then my old one, the one I went to in Washington focused on form and technique, this gym pushes you to keep moving at all times. I have learned not to wear pants there, only shorts, totally fell on my ass at one point. That’s what I get for laughing at someone getting hit in the head with a door earlier today…

So I have signed up for a year, costing me an arm and a leg, so I have to bust my butt. I am setting a goal of going at least 3 days a week, which I better meet!

I’m starting to get feedback on the book, and I’m looking forward to having it back with all of the notes so I can get started on the rewrite!

Well, I’m doing my best to make positive changes in my life, I wrote a book, started kickboxing again, and I am trying to address problems head on instead of letting them simmer below the surface. I hope that everyone who reads this feels a little inspired to better themselves, it really does feel good!

Well, as you know I finished writing my book on January 1, and I have been editing it sense then. I’m all finished with that now, so until it gets ripped apart by others I am without project! It’s a good thing american idol starts on Tuesday!

I’m really excited for going to the kickboxing studio tomorrow, nervous too! Wish me luck! With any luck I won’t break anything.

Back to Boxing

I know the gyms will probably be overcrowded with all of the people trying to lose a few pounds, but I have decided it is time to do something I enjoy again: boxing. I’m going to go check out one of the local gyms on Monday night, they have reasonable fee’s and good hours, so if I like it I’m staying. I really needed to get myself back into something physical, it should help a lot! So heres to doing something for yourself!

I am almost done editing the book, about 50 more pages to go, the only problem is it is still too long! I have tried to take things out, and I have removed little parts, but everything else seems too important to the story! Sometimes I feel like I haven’t written enough on certain parts, so I have to stop myself from adding to it!

Alright, well, wish me luck! I’m going to go attempt to find all of my old boxing gear… the old gloves have been missing for a long time, but I did buy new ones not too long ago…

Book update: I have finished book one,and have been editing it, changing some key parts to make it flow better, also to make it not sound too much like other books. For the sake of my future writing I would like to ask a question (and I will attempt to put a poll up if I can figure out how…)

Life update… we have been playing an ongoing game of hide the rubber snake around the office the last few days. It’s funny how a little stupid joke like that can really make everyone have a better day. I think I am going to invest in fake animals to hide around the office…see if it helps morale…

My brother has been on an amazing vacation, doing all kinds of things I would love to do, I am super jealous but also very happy that he is out there living. He inspired a new addition to my “things to do” list, ziplining… it sounds like fun!

Work has been crazy lately. We still haven’t found a new front desk girl, so I have been subbing in to that position, which of course is making it near impossible to get any of my own work done. I am staying late most days trying to catch up, but my boss doesn’t want me to get overtime, so I try not to stay too late!

I’ve moved on to editing my book, I am making some small changes in the character relationships that I think will make the book better all together. Hopefully I am right about that…

Our drunk old man neighbor got arrested this morning, I got to see a very interesting video of his rambling before the cops came. He had pee’d his pants and was attempting to get in his car. He talked about how gorgeous I was (I always attract the best ones out there! He can join my fan in prison!) I’m glad I wasn’t there to witness it first hand. I have a really hard time being super mean to total dumbasses. He continued to rant about hating and loving everyone, and how he hadn’t had sex in 100 years. Good times.

The book is finished! I finally forced myself to draw it to a close on 1/1/10 The book took my 1 1/2 months to write, now I’m going through it, ripping it apart, and rewriting the parts I don’t like! Once I am satisfied with my finished product I will share it with those who are interested

I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year, I spent it on the couch with my cousin and my dogs, counted down and then went to bed, woo thrill seeker!

Over the weekend we packed up the truck and headed up with my Aunt and her family to their cabin, it was nice to get out of the city. The dogs loved it, I got scared to death by a regular old cat, and we all had a good time.
